Automatic location reporting in the palm of your hand.
GPSMICTM
GPS-5100 Series
Heavy Duty and Versatile
MSRP Starting at $525
The Pryme GPSMIC is a powerful, patented location reporting device that integrates with existing radio systems. The GPSMIC operates as a normal remote speaker microphone attached to a two-way radio. Unlike Automatic Vehicle Location systems, the GPSMIC system works with virtually any two-radio, including mobile and handheld radios in both trunked and conventional formats. Because GPSMICs operate on the radio system you already have, they do not require any additional channels or licensing.

  • ACCESSORIES

  • Functions as both a remote speaker microphone and a GPS location device
  • Works with most two-way radios including mobile and portable, conventional and trunked, VHF or UHF.
  • Operates transparently - radio operators use the GPSMIC just as they would any remote microphone.
  • Sensitive GPS receiver and high-gain GPS antenna provide location fixes even in areas with low-signal. GPS location data is typically accurate to within ten meters.
  • Onboard memory in each GPSMIC can store up to 1,300 location reports. That is equivalent to over 100 hours of location history assuming one location report per 5 minute period.
  • Alarm function allows the user to alert dispatchers of incidents with the push of a single button. Once initiated, the GPSMIC will send a series of alerts until the alarm is cancelled.
  • Internal lithium ion battery pack provides over ten hours of operation under normal conditions before needing to be recharged.
  • GPSMICs used in mobile and fixed applications can be powered using any 12 VDC power source. The GPSMIC will continue to function as a normal remote speaker microphone without power. However, data and GPS functions require power.
  • Status LED alerts the user when the battery is low.
  • Rugged construction for long life under heavy use.
  • Loud, front firing speaker allows incoming signals to be heard. An optional external earphone can be used when privacy is required.
  • Base-Enabled feature allows GPSMICs to view location reports graphically when connected to a PC running mapping software.

  • POSITION REPORTING FEATURES
  • The GPSMIC system is capable of operation using several different automatic reporting modes. These modes can be combined to customize the system to the needs of your organization. Different units can use different reporting options for even more flexibility.
  • Polling: Reports location of a unit or group when requested by the Dispatcher. Dispatch operators can always poll a unit or group of units to determine their location regardless which other reporting options are enabled.
  • Push-To-Talk: Reports location of the GPSMIC whenever the user presses the PTT key to send a voice transmission. A minimum time between reports can be set to minimize data transmissions.
  • Elapsed Time: Automatically sends a location report after a programmed amount of time has passed.
  • Relative Distance: Sends a location report after the unit has moved a predetermined distance away from its last reported location.
  • Fixed Distance (Geofence): Sends a location report and alert whenever a user moves outside of a programmed perimeter.

  • SYSTEM FEATURES
  • Integrates into your existing voice channels; no additional data channel or system backbone is required. Provides location reporting across the coverage area of your existing radio system.
  • Automatic location reports are sent only when the microphone detects a clear channel is available. This helps minimize collisions with other traffic.
  • Highly customizable to meet the unique needs of your organization. Most operating parameters are programmable using the PRYME GPSMIC Tools software suite. Extensive over-the-air, on-the-fly capabilities maximize flexibility.
  • Simple, single-channel installations require one Base Station unit or a Base Enabled GPSMIC. Rack-mounted PRYME Base Station Units can be expanded to support up to four channels and BSUs can be used in multiples for larger systems.
  • Our simple Application Programming Interface (API) allows the GPSMIC system to be used with third-party mapping and dispatch software packages.

  • GPS ACCURACY NOTICE: GPS location data is acquired from government satellites. Accuracy of this data is subject to obstructions, reflections, interference, and government interventions, and is not under PRYME's control. Users should avoid placing absolute reliance on coordinates obtained from any GPS receiving device.
